but what if it was different?!? What if we were so used to heating people talk about the things they loved about themselves that we would stare in shocked silence if we ever heard someone say they hated themselves or just something about them?!? WHAT IF?!?!?

Obsessed About The Things We Loved.....
We are so used to hearing people go on and on about what they don't like about themselves and how much they hate themselves, that when they mention something they like, or maybe even love, it's very strange to us, and sometimes we really aren't sure how to respond. And if they spend any significant amount of time talking about it we start to think of them as vain, cocky, and stuck up.

My Tiara Ring
It started as just a pretty ring that my best friend and I both got when we started our band, and that in itself makes it very special, but it also has so much more meaning to me now.
As a child of God, daughter of the King of kings, I am a princess, but during my struggle with self-hatred I didn't feel like it. I didn't feel beautiful, loved, treasured, or like I had dignity and power over the enemy (Satan), everything a princess SHOULD.
But once my heart and mind were opened up to my Heavenly Father's love for me and His delight in my, my view of myself changed. When I looked in the mirror, I didn't see a girl that would never measure up and be considered beautiful by the world's standards. I saw a loved and enjoyed Princess, daughter of the King of all.
Believe me! Realizing that God isn't like a strict father that's just waiting to punish you, but that He actually loves you is a big key to freedom. But realizing that He not only loves you, but that He actually likes you and enjoys you is what opens the cage door and give you the ability to walk out.
So, every time I look at my tiara ring, not only does it remind me of my best friend, but, more importantly, it reminds me of who I am in my Father's eyes. A beautiful, loved, treasured Princess who has power and authority over the enemy just liker her Father does.
Forever His

Why I Started This Blog/Ministry
At about age 13 I started struggling with self-hatred. I started just not liking my physical appearance, but it didn't take long and I didn't like ANYTHING about myself. Not my looks, not my talents, not my personality, nothing! At 15, I pretty much hated myself. The strange thing was that I wanted to like myself and knew that I should, but I didn't know how to. No matter what I did; reading the books, listening to the songs, memorizing the Bible verses, telling myself the truth, nothing worked and I was just getting frustrated with myself. I hated myself for hating myself. NOT a fun place to be in, Eventually I realized what my problem was; I knew it all in my head, but I didn't believe it in my heart.
Then, in the summer of 2014, when I was 16/17, I went to camp at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City. One of the main topics during the camps was that God doesn't just love me, He actually likes me. He enjoys me and delights in me. Through that, and with the help of an awesome book (Redefining Beautiful by Jenna Lucado), I actually started liking myself!
Over the next year, I experienced more and more freedom until, finally, during my freshman year of school at IHOPU, I completely broke free from it!
I would keep telling you my story, but I'm sure that the details with be told over time, and I might ever write a whole "essay" about it and post of somewhere on this blog someday.
But through all of this I have a huge heart for girls and women and I want to help set them free from the prison of self-hatred. One of my goals in life is it make is so that it's rare to find a girl what does NOT like herself. I want self-hatred to be non existent. I want girls and women to love who they are and how they look and embrace their dignity as beautiful, loved, and delighted in daughters of the King!
So, that's what this blog is. I've wanted to start a girls/women's ministry blog for a long time, and have started a couple different time, but nothing was sticking.....until now! I finally settled on a name and a theme/focus and I'm super excited! Can't wait to see where this goes.
Love you all!!!
